“Holy shit, that crowd is fucking massive!” said bassist Danny Hauser as they wrapped up their set at the infamous Bamboozle Festival in NJ this past weekend, where they shared the stage with labelmates After The Burial, Born of Osiris and Upon A Burning Body.
Drummer Sam Applebaum further mentioned, “It was our first time at Bamboozle and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect as we haven’t performed at a festival of this magnitude ever before in the U.S. This was a huge treat. I know we are all stoked and very fortunate to be here.” For those who missed Veil Of Maya‘s set at Bamboozle, let’s just say you missed out on insane circle pits, crazy crowd surfers and one of VOM’s most legendary performances of their career.
Prior to their set at Bamboozle, the band was busy in the nation’s capital demoing new tracks with their great friend and labelmate, Misha Mansoor of Periphery [See Misha and Marc’s interview of each other here] for their untitled new record that will be dropping in the fall.
Guitarist Marc Okubo shared his excitement, “The tracks we are demoing are coming out amazing and give me the chills! We have spent lots of time on the road with Periphery, and now working with Misha is an added bonus. He is beyond a genius and understands our focus for this next record. Things are faster, more technical and beyond any of our efforts thus far. We are also all really excited to go back overseas and play a full set for everyone over there. It’s a great line-up, so make sure you check the dates and come rage with us.”
VEIL OF MAYA will be taking the summer off to finish writing and recording their new album. However, the band will be playing a few select shows to gear up for something special this fall. Applebaum further comments, “We can’t wait for everyone to hear what we have been working on. We plan to make this the most over-the-top and best VEIL OF MAYA record yet. We will be hitting the road in the fall, so get stoked for a sick ass tour that will be a party every single night. Stay tuned.”
