Progressive technical metal band TEXTURES continue their work on their fourth studio album at Split Second Sound studios in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
In their first video report, TEXTURES guitarist & backing vocalist Jochem Jacobs and drummer Stef Broks discuss their new studio, their songwriting process, working titles of new songs, and more. View “Return to the Studio, Part One” here.
The band’s 2003 debut album, Polars, received worldwide critical acclaim and TEXTURES went on to receive an Essent Award for ‘Most Promising Act’ in 2004 in their native Holland. Their 2006 sophomore album, Drawing Circles, was their true breakthrough and solidified TEXTURES into the annuls of the early djent movement.
The as-yet-untitled new album is the follow-up to 2008’s Silhouettes. A Fall 2011 release is expected through Nuclear Blast Records.
