By Ivan Chopik
January 24th, 2014

This year at NAMM, Ibanez’s Mike Orrigo hosted a reveal of three new formidable signature models for three of their artists: Periphery’s Jake Bowen, Angra’s Kiko Loureiro, and Animals As Leaders’ Tosin Abasi. Check out the videos of each artist below along with specs, pictures, and a gallery featuring highlights of the 2014 Ibanez lineup at the bottom of the page!

Jake Bowen (Periphery) – JBM100

Jake’s new signature JMB100 guitar is built for deep riffing, featuring his signature DiMarzio® Titan™ pickups, carefully engineered to handle his Drop-C tuning in tandem with the Lo Pro Edge bridge. It sticks out from the crowd with its dark, but not quite black matte finish, gold hardware, and reverse headstock. (Check out our interview with Jake at NAMM here!)

Kiko Loureiro (Angra) – KIKO100 & KIKO10P

Kiko’s signature guitars (the KIKO100 and the KIKO10P PREMIUM) meld modern with classic with a substantial SA body built with alder for a crisper, brighter sound, and a neck profile that straddles the speed of the Wizard and the grip of Satriani’s JS series. His signature DiMarzio® KIKO pickups that shape the sound of both guitars are based on a higher-output version of the legendary PAF pickups, giving him the bite that high-gain playing demands without losing the control he needs for subtler fusion sounds.

Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders) – TAM10

Tosin’s second signature Ibanez captures a piece of history by resembling the 8-string Ibanez Custom Shop that was the starting point for Tosin’s first signature model, which itself wound up looking quite different from the prototype. The TAM10 features a maple/walnut body rather than the wenge/bubinga of the TAM100, offset inlays instead of trapedzoidal mother of pearl, a white finish with a tortoiseshell pickguard, and black rather than gold hardware. It shares with its predecessor the same exact electronics, including Tosin’s signature Ionizer single coil and humbucker pickups with coil-splitting, which are controlled with the same 5-way switch and coil-tap. (Check out our interview with Tosin at NAMM here!)
